SMS Notifications Program

1. Program Overview

Mr. White operates an optional SMS notification program called Mr. White SMS Notifications. When you opt in, Mr. White may send you service-related text messages — such as care reminders, appointment alerts, pack invitations, memory book notifications, and account alerts — to the verified mobile number associated with your account.

This program is strictly service-related. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages, and we do not share your mobile opt-in data or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

2. How to Opt In

Enrollment requires three explicit steps inside your Mr. White account. SMS notifications are disabled by default — you must complete all three steps to participate.

Consent to receive SMS is entirely optional. It is not required to create an account, access any feature, or use the Mr. White service, and it is not bundled with our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. You can use every part of Mr. White without ever enabling SMS.

    Verify your mobile number

    In Settings → Profile → Phone Verification, enter your mobile number and complete the one-time SMS verification code. Your number must be verified before SMS notifications can be enabled.

    Give explicit consent

    Tick the standalone consent checkbox, which is unchecked by default. This checkbox covers only SMS messaging — it is separate from account creation, purchases, and acceptance of our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. You may decline and continue using Mr. White normally.

    Enable the SMS Notifications toggle

    In Settings → Profile → SMS Notifications, turn on the master SMS toggle. You can further choose which notification types (reminders, invitations, announcements, memory book events) to receive via SMS.

Because opt-in occurs inside the authenticated Mr. White app, the actual consent screens are reproduced below. SMS is disabled by default. To receive messages a user must (1) verify their mobile number, (2) check a standalone, unchecked consent box, then (3) enable the specific message types they want. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

3. Message Types

Messages sent under this program include:

  • Care Reminders: Scheduled reminders about your dog's care routines, medications, or vet appointments. These messages contain plain text only.
  • Pack Invitations: Sent when another member invites you to join a dog-care pack on Mr. White. These messages include a direct link to mrwhiteaidogbuddy.com to accept the invitation.
  • Profile Invitations: Sent when someone grants you access to a dog's profile. These messages include a direct link to mrwhiteaidogbuddy.com to accept.
  • Account Alerts: Security or account-level notifications. These messages contain plain text only.

Where messages include a link, it always points directly to mrwhiteaidogbuddy.com. No URL shorteners are used.

We do not send promotional offers, advertising, or third-party marketing via SMS.

How Invitations Work (Consent Note)

Pack and profile invitations let members collaborate on dog care across shared groups. An invitation SMS is only ever sent to an existing Mr. White account holder who has already verified their own mobile number and opted in to SMS for that invitation type. Invitations are addressed by email, never by phone number — Mr. White never collects a recipient's phone number from an inviter and never texts a person who is not already a registered, opted-in user. If the invited person does not have an account, or has not opted in to SMS, they receive the invitation by email only. In other words, a recipient has always given their own consent before any invitation text can reach them.

4. Program Terms

  • Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your individual notification preferences and account activity. You control which notification types are enabled.
  • Rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Mr. White does not charge for SMS messages; carrier rates are separate.
  • Opt-Out (STOP): Reply STOP to any Mr. White message to cancel. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS notifications will be sent. You can also disable SMS at any time from Settings → SMS Notifications in the app. Additionally, you may remove your phone number entirely from Settings → Profile → Phone Verification — removing your number permanently opts you out of SMS notifications and records your opt-out date.
  • Help (HELP): Reply HELP for assistance, or contact Mr. White directly at human@mrwhiteaidogbuddy.com.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: Your mobile number and SMS consent data are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
  • Supported Carriers: Mr. White SMS notifications are delivered via major US carriers. Carrier availability may vary.

5. Data & Privacy

When you opt in to SMS notifications, Mr. White collects and stores:

  • Your verified mobile phone number
  • The date and time of your opt-in
  • Your opt-out date, if applicable
  • Your individual notification type preferences

This data is used solely to deliver service notifications and manage your preferences. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy, Section 5 — SMS Communications.
